More flying

Mom and Dad are visiting, so the five of us went up to Harriman to go flying for the fourth time (links to the first 3 times: 1/25/04, 1/11/04, 1/04/04):

Like last time (video), I circled a few times and got stuck in a tree about 30 feet off the ground. Dad and I managed to shake the tree until the plane fell down a bit farther, then we pulled it out:

I really need to join a club with a bigger field. Or I need to learn how to fly. Or both.

New fish picture

The picture is new, not the fish. Here's my one remaining Praecox Rainbow:

TOC or no TOC?

I spent a little time putting together a table of contents for the Blog. The idea was to spare people's computers from having to load all the images from the last 8 months just to view the latest entry. The table of contents had a link for every entry, and when clicked would lead to a page that contained the blog entries for just that month. That way, to view a given entry, the browser would only have to load all the entries for that month, not all the entries ever entered.

In the end, though, I switched back to this format. I didn't like how it broke up the reading experience. To read the blog, the user would have to click on the latest link, read February's entries, then return to the table of contents, click on a January entry, read all the January entries, go back to the table of contents, click on a December entry, etc. I like being able to just continually scroll down without having to click back and forth.

What do you think?

Janet Jackson and the Frog

"Never mind the message it sends to international audiences...who may have been wondering whether America really is immoral."

Was there ever any doubt?

Citizen Hero (or something)

In 2001, Scott Foresman published a 3rd grade Social Studies text book called Communities. Since our bike trip involved using the Internet while traveling through Virginia, they felt we were a good way to end the "communication technologies" chapter. Anyway, I added scans of the cover and pages from the book to the website.
